Useful Tools That I Highly Recommend

To begin, allow me to introduce a selection of kitchen must-haves that are dear to my heart when it comes to preparing top-notch homemade baby food purees! These culinary instruments will simplify the entire procedure of cooking, mixing, and freezing baby food, making it a breeze.

  • Silicone ice cube trays – Initially, I found it quite convenient to make a substantial amount of mixed formula and pour it into a silicone ice cube tray fitted with a lid for subsequent freezing. This approach worked beautifully when small children were not consuming substantial portions, as each individual cube measured approximately 1-2 ounces.

  • Freezer bags – Once the pureed cubes have set, you can transfer them to a freezer-friendly bag. I really like the reusable Stasher bags for this purpose.

  • Storage containers – As soon as you embark on the journey of making homemade baby food, you immediately realize the need for lots of tiny storage containers. A friend kindly loaned me a collection of plastic containers for storing homemade baby food, and I opted for these freezer-safe glass containers as well.
